My interest in design was sparked by a computer art class I took at Stephen F. Austin State University. With this new found inspiration, I transfered to the Art Institute of Houston, where I completed a Bachelor's Degree of Applied Science in Interactive Media Design.

I have spent the last 10+ years working as a web designer/web developer for Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company (VALIC). During my time at VALIC I have been responsible for designing user interfaces, updating and maintaining existing internal sites, as well as developing new sites and tools for use by Financial Advisors all over the country.

Over the years I have developed many websites for myself and several small businesses. For a brief time, I operated a t-shirt business online allowing me to dabble in eCommerce and screen printing. I have learned the value of social media presence by operating a few blogs and social media pages. Recently, I have begun to focus on video, and am currently working to build an audience on YouTube.

The internet is continually transforming, so I am constantly learning and adapting to keep my skills fresh. At the same time, there is something to be said about the ability to open up a text editor and just typing HTML. A blank text document is probably my favorite tool.
